Kim Kardashian may not exactly keep up with foreign politics, but she sure is quick to put out a damage control. The sexy “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” reality diva was feeling the heat on Twitter after posting support for Israel during the Israel-Palestine time of crisis.
The 32-year-old mogul first ignited the controversy on Twitter by writing, “Praying for everyone in Israel.” After being barraged with hateful messages, Kim followed up the first tweet with, “And praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world!”
Kim has since deleted the posts and issued the following apology for her fans:
“I want to own up to and explain that earlier today I sent out two tweets about saying prayers for the people in Palestine and Israel and after hearing from my followers, I decided to take down the tweets because I realized that some people were offended and hurt by what I said, and for that I apologize.”
“I should have pointed out my intentions behind these tweets when I posted them. The fact is that regardless of religion and political beliefs, there are countless innocent people involved who didnt choose this, and I pray for all of them and also for a resolution. I also pray for all the other people around the world who are caught in similar crossfires.”
Kim’s tweets were about the tension brewing along the Gaza strip this week. Palestinian militants fired rockets at Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and Israeli military are reportedly gearing up for ground invasion.
What do you think about Kim’s apology? Did she do the right thing by owing up to her mistake or were her tweets blown out of proportion?
