Nigel Lythgoe is denying claims that American Idol producers staged a fight between new AI judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.
“I have no idea why I would be (staging a fight) five months before the show went out,” Nigel Lythgoe told TMZ.
The battle between Nicki and Mariah got pretty heated weeks ago when a video surfaced of Nicki threatening the pop diva.
Many people believed the fight was staged because of American Idol##Q##s continually decreasing ratings, and with the recent popularity of other singing competition shows like The Voice and X Factor.
But Nigel doesn##Q##t fully dismiss the idea that he is willing to do something to get that rise in viewership!
“I would only do ANYTHING for ratings a month before the show went out. They##Q##ve got my timing wrong,” Nigel Lythgoe exclaimed.
