Our PopStop TV News crew caught up with Aubrey O’Day to talk about this season of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice. She told us who she views as her biggest competition, the interesting piece of advice she took from Donald Trump, where she sees herself in the future and more!
From the start, a lot of viewers underestimated Aubrey O##Q##Day business skills. Although she admits it can be a fight to defend her image, she isn’t letting that get her down.
“I’ve always been me, so I’m just waiting for everyone to catch up,” said Aubrey O’Day. “Everyone probably feels like they haven’t been able to be seen in the best light and the way that the media kind of creates characters and builds your reputation and image is always a difficult thing to fight, but at the end of the day I’m glad I got an opportunity to show people that and I’m glad I got an opportunity to push myself in ways that I haven’t been pushed in a while.”
Working under Donald Trump can be intimidating, but with a boss like that, we’re sure all the contestants learn a tip or two from him. Aubrey joked about a valuable piece of information he taught her.
“I learned the art and essence of fabulous hair from Mr. Trump.”
On a more serious note, Aubrey admits that she believes Lisa Lampanelli is her biggest competition on the show, but doesn’t intend on stealing her business strategies.
“I never check anyone’s moves out. I think that the second you start to copy someone, you become unoriginal and I think that originals are always able to do more with their career and their lives, so I don’t ever really check for people, but I appreciate great minds and I appreciate great work and she has both of those things going for her.”
Aubrey took full advantage of her experience on the show. She tells us she learned how to be a better diplomat and that her weaknesses aren’t always flaws.
“I wear my heart on my sleeve, but the good part about that is that I’m never faking it. You know exactly what I feel and I keep it real and if I don’t like you I don’t act like I like you and if I do I’m a loyal, loving friend.”
As for where she sees herself in five years, Aubrey is mainly focused on her own contentment.
“I’ve done a lot of amazing things and reached a lot of great places that I never thought I would experience in life, and sometimes in those most amazing places I was the most unhappy I’ve ever been, so I want to be happy.”
