David Guetta won the award and video taped his acceptance speech because he is on a tour in South America.
The 40th anniversary of the American Music Awards brought about a new category of “Electronic Dance Music”.
The nominees of the category were David Guetta, Calvin Harris, & Skrillix.
“It##Q##s wonderful also to see electronic music recognized at this level in the U.S.” David Guetta said in his acceptance speech.
The internationally known French DJ released hit after hit this year, collaborating with many artists like Nicki Minaj, Usher, Neyo, Akon, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Jennifer Hudson, will.i.am and many more.
