The 20th season of CBS’s The Amazing Race concluded on Sunday night, in which the final four pairs was cut to three and a winner was eventually named.
The final worn out contestants braced themselves to take on their most mental and physical competition yet in Honolulu, Hawaii after leaving India and Japan. Here’s what went down…
In the first hour, Army couple Dave and Rachel Brown, border patrol agents Art Velez and J.J. Carrell and Big Brother contestants Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly moved on in Japan, eliminating dating divorcees Vanessa and Ralph from the show.
Once the teams got to Hawaii, they had to rappel to the top of one of the 45-story Waterfront Towers, not once, but twice! Dave and Rachel lead the pack ahead of Art and J.J. then Brendon and Rachel.
One member had to shave their head with a samurai sword at the next Road Block, where Brendon and Rachel lost their chances by misreading the directions and taking a cab instead of a helicopter, causing Rachel to have one of her infamous breakdowns.
My heart was beating wild in the last challenge, which involved one team member sliding down a hill on a wooden sled and rolling a rock into a target.
Rachel and Dave thought they completed the task and began celebrating, but received news that they had to redo the last Road Block. Even in the state of panic, the pair went back and finished in time to win it all!
Art and J.J. came in second, making Brendon and Rachel take third.
