It’s about to get very ugly up in here!
As our PopStop TV News team reported earlier today, former Disney star Kyle Massey and his brother Chris are suing the producers of Bristol Palin’s new reality show. They claimed to have created a reality TV show specifically for Bristol, only to get cut out of the project at the last minute.
TMZ obtained a copy of the suit, which states the Massey brothers met Bristol while she was teamed up with Kyle on “Dancing With the Stars”. The trio developed the idea for a show and even picked out a name – “Bristol-ogy 101”.
Kyle has been keeping our PopStop TV News team updated on the project. When I caught up with the 20-year-old “Cory In the House” star in March, he even gave us the synopsis of the new reality show.
“What you can expect is that you’re going to hear a lot from the Massey boys and see a lot from the Massey boys and good quality clean home entertainment,” Kyle told me exclusively about the show they were planning.
Kyle also explained how the show was supposed to show Bristol in a whole new light:
“This show will show Bristol as a good mom, you know. People don’t usually realize how much she actually does for Tripp. Tripp is a trip. She really is a great mom and her priority is him and it’s all about him.”
According to the suit, a producer named David McKenzie “hijacked” the project and repackaged the program as “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp” – which is premiering tonight on Lifetime.
The Masseys have been cut out of the project and they want monetary compensation for coming up with the idea. The brothers also want a judge to shut down “Life’s a Tripp”.
According to TMZ, Bristol is not listed as a defendant in the lawsuit.
