Forget the Oscars! The Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala (Met Gala), which celebrated Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli on Monday night, is truly the most glamorous affair.
A-list stars like host Carey Mulligan made bold, edgy choices and stood out in a sea of stunning designer gowns!
Jessica Alba looked like a golden goddess in a flashy,Michael Kors gown. Her soft side curls and dark, red lip-color complemented her sultry look. Joining Alba in the Met-allic fan club is Cameron Diaz, who sparkled in a Stella McCartney gown that totally brought back old Hollywood.
“The Avengers” star Scarlett Johansson went all out in a strapless Dolce & Gabbana gown with a tulle mermaid skirt and embroidered bodice. The dress accentuates her shape and fits her like a glove!
“Vampire Diaries” star Nina Dobrev turned heads in a dramatic, off-the-shoulder custom made Donna Karan gown. The black and gold confection is ultra chic and classic.
Sofia Vergara traded in her signature mermaid-tail gown for a sensational Marchesa silver lace column dress.
One of my favorites of the night is Amber Heard, who wore a breath-taking Zac Posen dress and went with her signature beauty look of an up ‘do and tangerine lips. Amber looks chic and fresh!
Lea Michele was all about the blue sequence as she wore a Diane von Furstenberg dress and bag paired with Lorraine Schwartz earrings. January Jones, on the other hand, brought sunshine to the carpet by rocking a bright yellow Versace gown with Cartier jewels.
Rihanna swept over the blogosphere with her edgy, black Tom Ford gown and natural makeup! The 24-year-old singer showed off her sexy back in by putting her hair up in playful buns. RiRi completed her look with Christian Louboutin heels.
Justin Timberlake also chose Tom Ford while his fiancé Jessica Biel paid homage to Prada.
The most buzzworthy lady of the night is Beyonce, who showed up about 15 minutes after the majority of celebrity entrance had wrapped. Queen B. was escorted up the Metropolitan Museum’s infamous steps by Andre Leon Talley and wore a dramatic black feathered lace Givenchy gown that pooled into a long, purple train. Beyonce’s body is to die for, considering she just gave birth 5 months ago.
But is it just me or does the dress look a bit like Katy Perry’s hair?
