Twenty two year old Jordan Sparks is speaking finally speaking about her upcoming movie Sparkle, and her costar, the late Whitney Houston’s role in it. Whitney, who passed away in February, plays a single parents in the movie, and someone who struggles with heavy drug use. Sparks said that “There are certainly some themes in the movie that everyone would have wanted to ask Whitney about like, did you relate your own life to this part?”
And Sparks is certain that Houston would have answered honestly. She also said that Whitney wasn’t just a mother on screen, but off as well. “For me, she took on the mother role because my parent’s weren’t there during film production. She was always asking, Did I feel comfortable? Did I need anything?” Jordan thinks that there is definitely a different vibe around the film now, since Houston’s passing and feels honored to have been able to work with one of her idols.
