E3 week continues with some tidbits from Sony! Shortly after Microsoft finished their press conference, it was Sony##Q##s turn at bat as they unveiled several new titles. Overall gaming enthusiasts probably left happier compared to people at the Microsoft conference as Sony chose to spend more time showcasing some new games scheduled for release in the coming fiscal year. Among them included “Assassins Creed III”, “The Last of Us”, “God of War: Ascension”, and “Playstation Battle All Stars”.
While the presentation and gameplay of these titles was nothing short of impressive, Sony##Q##s latest add on to their system failed to garner much acclaim. Announcing a partnership with “Harry Potter” author JK Rowling, Sony revealed what appeared to be a rather cumbersome way to experience a story with motion detection in “Wonderbook“:
While it seems that Sony wants to appeal to a younger demographic that Microsoft and Nintendo has a firmer grasp on, I think the initial reaction to “Wonderbook” says it all. Don##Q##t get me wrong. Getting a deal with JK Rowling is surely going to be an effective marketing tool, But don##Q##t expect too much momentum when “Wonderbook” is released in the coming fall.
