Whitney Houston’s last big screen film “Sparkle” is one of the most anticipated films this summer. Our PopStop TV News team just got the official music video for “Celebrate”, the lead single from the ‘Sparkle’ soundtrack.
Jordin is seen in the video chilling with her fabulous friends at a beautiful soiree. Although Whitney’s voice is heard throughout the film, we only see a few clips of her from the movie.
The jam was produced by R. Kelly and is featured on the original motion soundtrack, which will arrive on July 31. According to his site, this was the last song recorded by Whitney.
Jordin told BET, “When we did the song, we planned on (the video) being Whitney and me. But she’s not here, so we wanted it to be a tribute to her. So it’s fun, upbeat and exciting.”
“We’re all just having a good time (and the premise is) they all come over to my house singing along to Whitney’s music. And we’re missing her and celebrating her as well. It’s actually pretty simple, but when you want it and hear her voice along with it, it makes it so much more.”
The 22-year-old star plays Whitney’s daughter in the film and the movie is a remake of the 1976 film inspired by the Supremes. The movie follows a singing group of three teenage sisters as they deal with their rise to fame during the height of the Motown era.
