Let’s be honest. Our PopStop TV News team wasn’t too convinced about practical joker Ashton Kutcher portraying Steve Jobs in a high-anticipated biopic. Despite the obvious physical resemblance of the shaggy Ashton and the late Apple CEO, can Ashton really pull off the complex nature of one of the world’s most influential entrepreneurs?
Jane Lynch, who played Dr. Freeman on “Two and a Half Men”, totally thinks her co-star is the right choice for the role!
“I’d love to see him play Steve Jobs,” Jane dished to me exclusively at the recent L.A. premiere of “The Three Stooges”. “First of all, he looks like him, there’s kind of a resemblance. I think he’d probably be able to get into the ethos, that pioneering thing Steve Jobs did.”
The 51-year-old Glee star also compared Ashton’s investment in over 22 tech start-up companies to Steve’s relentless attitude of launching one product after another.
“Steve Jobs, of course, was almost not human in terms of his ability to perceive but he was also, if you read Walter Isaacson’s bio, a really hard to deal with person,” Jand said. “I think Ashton Kutcher will be able to really yet into that, being a pioneer of social media and everything. How Ashton tries a little bit of everything, has his hands in the pots here and there, and I think he’ll be able to get into this one really well.”
If done right, this pivotal role could potential make Ashton’s career as an actor! The working title for the movie is “Jobs: Get Inspired”, and the film is directed by “Swing Vote” helmer Joshua Michael Stern.
