And the winner of Season 2 of The Glee Project is…Blake Jenner! Woo congratulations! With his good looks, smooth voice and charm, he won over the hearts of Ryan Murphy and the other mentors of the show. He beat out the other two finalists, Aylin Baramuglu and Ali Stroker.
Blake’s last chance performance song was “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain. The performance wasn’t convincing enough for Murphy, but what probably won him over was Blake’s poem “I’m The Guy.” Murphy thought that was brave of him to share and said, “I loved your leadership throughout this competition, you’re leading man quality.”
Jenner will receive a seven-episode arc on Glee this coming season. Murphy tweeted early Tuesday, “Who will win THE GLEE PROJECT 2? Writing such a great role for the winner! And just wait until you see who they are dating…” Any guesses as to who Blake’s character will be dating? In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said he’d like to date “anyone from Heather Morris (Brittany) to Vanessa Lengies (Sugar) to anyone in the choir room.” We’ll just have to wait and see!
Previous winners of The Glee Project include Samuel Larsen and Damian McGinty, who starred in more than their seven-episodes, and Alex Newell and Lindsay Pearce, who starred in two-episode arcs.
