Remember when Sheryl Crow forgot her own lyrics to “Soak Up the Sun” on stage? Apparently, there’s a more serious reason to her momentary memory lapse. The rock singer-songwriter just made a shocking revelation to the Las Vegas Review-Journal that she was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor last November.
“I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI,” the 50-year-old singer said. “And I found out I have a brain tumor. And I was like, ‘See? I knew there was something wrong.”
Sheryl’s rep also confirmed to E! News that the multiplatinum artist has a common form of brain tumor called a meningioma.
Sheryl’s bad news came right after she survived breast cancer six years ago. Despite the news, the “Summer Day” singer insists her health is fine. “I haven’t really talked about it. In November, I found out I have brain tumor. But it’s benign, so I don’t have to worry about it. But it gives me a fit.”
The nine-time Grammy winner is currently performing and plans to release a new album this year.
