Russell Brand’s hot summer comedy “Brand X” premiere last night on FX Network and so far, the reviews have been nothing short of brilliance.
Take away all the celebrity fluff and smoke ‘n mirror tricks and you have Russell doing what he does best – stand-up pop culture comedy and working the crowd.
The 37-year-old comedian’s edgy, manic personality hits right at home with the controversial topics mainstream shows tend to shy away from.
When I caught up with Rusty Rockets at FX Network’s summer series party, he told our PopStop TV News team exclusively about going a little scandalous on air.
“I mean, you really wouldn’t like to talk about, say, like a complex issue such as race or global holy war, or abortion,” Russell said. “Actually, we’re going to talk about all those.”
Katy Perry’s ex-husband is used to working the crowd, but he does admit that the Los Angeles audience is a little different from the norm.
“I think probably, per capita, there’s more insane people in Los Angeles than elsewhere.”
