Rosie O’Donnell had a unique way of telling the world she suffered a heart attack. She wrote about her experience in a poem on her website. Rosie was on her way through a parking lot when she heard someone call for help. She “saw an enormous woman struggling to get out of her car. She was stuck.” O’Donnell helped the lady out of her car.
A few hours later, Rosie thought she had hurt herself while helping the lady – “A few hours later my body hurt/I had an ache in my chest/both my arms were sore/everything felt bruised/muscular-I thought/strained or pulled tissue.” Rosie tried continuing on with her day, but she “became nauseous/my skin was clammy/I was very very hot/I threw up.” She googled the symptoms for heart attack, and then popped some Bayer aspirin as she had remembered it from a TV commercial.
O’Donnell did not call 911, but went to the doctor’s the next day and found out the extent of her condition. It turned out to be very serious as her “LAD was 99% blocked.”
She continues on that she is lucky to be here, alive. We’re glad you’re okay too, Rosie O’Donnell! She urges ladies to recognize the symptoms of a heart attack and to not ignore them if they occur.
