Rihanna seems to be missing millions of dollars from her account! The singer is already pretty rich, but she is suing her former accountants, claiming they mismanaged her finances.
Action was taken today when Rihanna filed the lawsuit in a Manhattan court under her real name, Robyn Fenty. She accused her money managers of bad bookkeeping, and Berdon LLP of failing to recommend her to cut expenses during her 2009 Last Girl on Earth tour. She alleged that the defendants took five years worth of revenue, at least 22 percent, from four national and international tours, while Rihanna received only 6 percent of the revenue.
The accountants were hired in 2005, when Rihanna’s career was just launching, but they were fired in 2010. Further accusations are made that Berdon are responsible for an ongoing audit of her tax returns between 2008 and 2010. The firm is also blamed for allowing Rihanna to purchase a new home in 2009 when it knew of the singer’s financial woes.
Berdon cannot be reached for comments. After this whole ordeal is over, you can bet Rihanna’s going to singing, “Cheers, I drink to that! Don’t let the bastards get ya down.”
