It seems like Rihanna and Chris Brown have some type of synergy! Fans and critics alike can’t seem to get over the 2009 incident, and Rihanna made it clear in the August issue of “Harper’s Bazaar” that she makes no apologies on who she choses to collaborate with in music.
When asked why she chose Chris Brown to duet with on her hit single “Birthday Cake”, Rihanna replied, “I thought it would be cute to do it with a guy. I wondered, who can be dirty, someone who people will really believe?”
Even though she and Chris had a bad breakup after the assault in 2009, Ri-Ri wants to keep her work separate from her past relationship history.
“Music is music and my fans have been asking me to recording with him,” she said. “I just felt like it was time. It was time.”
She also added that she understands where all the concerns are coming from. “Look, I understand that people had every right to be concerned about it,” Rihanna said. “But I didn’t see it that way because I’m in a different place.”
Rihanna’s dad recently told Grazia magazine that he believes Chris has “matured” since the incident and that he and Rihanna would make a “perfect couple”.
Rihanna Loses Millions?
However, it doesn’t seem like a reunion or any type of serious relationship will be happening soon. Rihanna admits she tends to be a bit guarded: “If I come across someone who I find really cool, I’ll hang out. But the minute I find that we’re getting too close I just – I don’t let people in.”
“When I was in love, I fell so hard. I was really, really, really in love. The way it made me feel was priceless. And in a blink of an eye, my whole life changed. Everything that I knew was different. I never thought I’d feel that pain in my life. I’m afraid of feeling that again.”
