PepsiCo Inc. announced on Thursday that they made a deal with Michael Jackson’s estate to use his image in their new global marketing ad campaign.
The King of Pop will be featured on one billion soda cans around the world beginning this Saturday. The first special edition Pepsi cans will be launched in China followed by the U.S., Asia, South America and Europe.
This isn’t MJ’s first go-around with the Pepsi empire. He teamed up with the company to shoot an ad with his brothers in 1983.
In honor of the 25th anniversary of Jackson’s multiplatinum Bad album and tour, fans will be able to win remix downloads from his biggest hits and can purchase commemorative merchandise and tickets to performances of Cirque du Soleil’s “Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour.”
So Michael Jackson’s name lives on! I think Pepsi should start the campaign off with a holographic MJ concert. Now THAT would bring in the money!
