Malin Akerman is one of the hottest actresses to watch out for this summer! Not only is 34-year-old actress gracing the cover of mags like Shape and Maxim, she’s also starring in the film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical “Rock of Ages”.
When our PopStop TV News crew saw her at Ciroc’s 2nd Annual Cabana Club party at the SkyBar in Mondrian Hotel, we had to catch up with her to find out all about working with Tom Cruise!
“It was unbelievable. He’s a phenomenal singer,” Malin dished about Tom’s performance as Stacee Jax. “He’s an amazing actor, obviously. I think it’s gonna be a pretty fantastic film. I think you guys are going to enjoy it a lot.”

In the film, Malin shares a tender moment with Tom as they both sing to “I Want to Know What Love Is”, the 1984 power ballad by the British-American rock band Foreigner. Malin also gets the pleasure of kissing Tom in the film, which she described as the “tonguiest tongue kiss of all time” in an interview with Shape magazine earlier this month.
This is not the first time the Swedish actress had an encounter with a Cruise. Back in 2010, Malin starred in a comedy drama flick called “The Romantics” – opposite of Katie Holmes. “They’re so sweet,” She said of Tom-Kat. “You can tell that they really go well together and they really deserve each other. Lovely couple.”
Although this summer’s going to be totally jam-packed for Malin, she’s managing to keep up with Hollywood’s latest book club fad – “50 Shades of Grey”!
“I just got it. I just started reading it last night. Two pages in! I was too tired but I’m gonna do that over the weekend for sure.”
On whether she’s thought about playing a role in the movie, she replied: “Let me read the book first and I’ll answer that after!”
