It’s definitely not a happy Friday for Madonna. The pop superstar and her record label are being sued over her 1990 hit “Vogue”. The company suing Madge is claiming the icon sampled portions of a composition called “Love Break” which was released back in 1977.
The company says “The portions of “Love Break. which have been copied into Vogue and all its various “mixes”, “remixes” videos, YouTube versions, etc are very much hidden.” The company is claiming it gave Madonna a notice of copyright infringement in July 2011 and then again this past winter. They are seeking damages, and Madonna’s profits she earned with the song, and as of press time Madge’s rep has no comment. Does this company deserve to sue Madonna?
