Madonna will not condone drug use (or being called out by a mouse). A little quarrel arose between Deadmau5 and Madge after a harmless comment was taken the wrong way, but they have cleared things up…sort of.
When Madonna performed at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami this weekend she took a moment to ask the audience, “How many people in this crowd have seen molly?”
“Molly” is apparently another term for MDNA, an ingredient found in ecstasy. Famous DJ Deadmau5, who is known for wearing a huge mouse head, did not approve, so he took to Facebook to speak his mind.
“Very classy there madonna. ##Q##HUR DUR HAS ANYONE SEEN MOLLY???##Q## such a great message for the young music lovers at ultra,” his post read. “Quite the f##Q##n philanthropist. but hey, at least yer HIP AND TRENDY! f*cking cant smack my head hard enough right now.”
Madge let him know real quickly that she had zero intentions on promoting drug use with her comment. On her second day on Twitter, she Tweeted a photo of herself wearing a pair of Minnie Mouse ears with the caption, “From one mouse to another I dont support drug use and i never have. I was referring to the song called “Have You Seen Molly” written by my friend Cedric Gervais who I almost worked with on my album.”
Deadmau5 then replied in a Tweet, “Fair enough, I was just voicing my concerns as I usually do. +1 respect for clearing it up personally … regardless, just be a little more aware of what you should represent at EDM events, and I##Q##ll watch my mouth.”
Madonna answered back again saying, “Communication is always best. You should have called me first, we could have cleared it up ##Q##privately.##Q##
See you on the road.”
Well, that was fun to watch…
