Madonna has built up enough power to basically do whatever she wants. She chose to express herself by singing Lady Gaga’s song “Born This Way”, which she famously knocked down after its release.
Madonna was in Israel this weekend for a show rehearsing for her tour. As she was singing “Express Yourself”, she made a sly transition into “Born This Way” and it was all caught on video.
Obviously the comparison of the two songs made for a great mash up, but something makes me think wasn’t intending to pay tribute to the Mother Monster by covering her song.
If you can recall, Madonna called Gaga’s “Born This Way” “reductive” after it released and said that it sounded very familiar.
