Katie Holmes is not letting her divorce with Tom Cruise hold her back! Her first project since the split will be Theresa Rebeck’s “Dead Accounts” on Broadway. The announcement was made on Thursday, when Holmes signed on to play Lorna in Rebeck’s play.
“Dead Accounts” is a five-character comedy set to open this fall at the Music Box Theatre. Three-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien will direct the play, while Jeffrey Finn is producing. Holmes made her Broadway debut in 2008, in a revival of Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons.” Tabloid interest in Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise helped ticket sales for “All My Sons.”
Since filing for divorce from Tom last month, Katie Holmes has been busy around New York City with daughter Suri Cruise. This week, Suri got to spend some quality time with her dad at Chelsea Piers and on a helicopter ride.
Holmes is also set to begin production on her next film, “Molly,” which tells the story of a single mom and daughter. She apparently co-wrote the movie while still married to Cruise. Hmm…coincidence much?
