We love us some JGL! He is always working, project after project. His latest film to hit theaters is “The Dark Knight Rises.” Now, he is focusing on sci-fi thriller “Looper,” which stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis. Gordon-Levitt’s character is a hit man who is assigned to kill his future self, who is played by Willis.
Gordon-Levitt spent three hours in makeup a day to put on a prosthetic nose and other cosmetic necessities to look more like Bruce. Most of Gordon-Levitt’s transformation into Willis comes from his mimicking skills. The actor has watched Bruce’s movies and listened to his dialogue repeatedly on his iPod. He says, “The most I learned from him is just hanging out with him. He’s a sweetheart and he loved this job. He was clearly there to play.”
“Looper,” directed by Rian Johnson, comes out in theaters on September 28th. The movie is set in the 21st century. Murder has become difficult to carry out, but time travel allows the mob to get rid of people. They are sent into the past, where the hit man awaits and victims can be disposed of with no questions asked.
It was revealed at this year’s Comic-Con that the assassin role (the character’s name is even Joe!) was specifically written for Joseph Gordon-Levitt! The director and actor go way back to 2005 when they worked together on the film “Brick.”
Whatever will Joseph Gordon-Levitt have up his sleeve next? He’s like the Energizer bunny…never stopping!
