Jennifer Lopez has A LOT on her plate, to say the least. She has an upcoming tour this summer with Enrique Inglesias, twin four-year-olds, a recent divorce, a new boyfriend and not to mention, she was just named the most powerful celebrity by Forbes magazine! Does that mean she has to give up her title as American Idol judge?
Although she has publicly said she hasn’t made a decision about the next season of AI, according to sources, the rumor is sadly a true one.
“She##Q##s just too busy,” the source says.
We can’t argue with that. Jennifer Lopez is back up at the peak of her career and everything seems to be going smoothly. With American Idol in the way, she may have to back off more important things.
Signs of scheduling also point to her dismissal. The first rounds of American Idol begin when she is scheduled to be overseas on her tour, which is expected to add more dates.
Jennifer hinted at the idea that she might not return next season during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres earlier this week.
“I really do enjoy it,” Jennifer told Ellen of being an Idol judge. “Now this is my second year. I don##Q##t know if I can go for a third year. I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year with the babies being 3, but now they##Q##re getting more mobile, they##Q##re about to go into school… So I just don##Q##t know.”
Lopez has been a judge for the past two seasons of American Idol that each had one-year contracts. The real question is, will Fox fork out a more tempting offer to keep their beloved J Lo?
