The eliminations haven’t even been announced for the week, but Idol is already down one man, making it the top 11.
Before American Idol aired last night, there had been rumors about Jermaine’s place in the competition. However, Ryan Seacrest cut to the chase and opened the show by telling America that one contestant had to go home.
Jermaine isn’t a stranger to drama. Just last week his dad, who supposedly abandoned him and his mother 10 year ago, gave him a surprisingly call that he said really upset him. His father then spoke out and said he had never left them and that he had lunch with his son and spoken to him multiple times that week.
I guess we’ll never know the true story because “the gentle giant” is gone for good. Jermaine nearly slipped by elimination once before when the judges didn’t choose him for the top 24, but got asked to come back and made it a top 25.
Jermaine was reportedly arrested at least two times last year and gave false names to law enforcement officers. When Idol producers found out about his outstanding warrants, they were forced to cut him loose.
Executive producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick called into “TMZ Live” to clear up some things regarding the issue and explain that they would’ve tried to help him had they known earlier.
“We help them where we can in clearing them up,” Lythgoe and Warwick said.
