Call me a Katy hater……..but…….
I##Q##m just a little confused.
With the exception of losing Russell Brand recently, it seems like Perry can do no wrong. Actually, that might##Q##ve not been a bad thing either.
I know it##Q##s becoming the norm for “popular” artists to receive a special re-release of their albums (see Lady Gaga, Rihanna), but really- do we need to hear more of Perry##Q##s Teenage Dream?
The re-release, The Complete Confection, will be out in March with a few new songs on it.
Not only did the original album come out a full year and a half ago, and undeservedly tie Michael Jackson##Q##s record for most singles (5! wtf) from one album- but it also just seems to be constantly force fed down all of our throats just as much as the alcohol one has to ingest to enjoy the songs period. Which is a lot- for me anyway….
Perry##Q##s people are promoting the hell out of her and I must give them a hand. I##Q##m shocked at her longevity (so far).
But this brings up my question. With reading some other blogs and articles discussing the upcoming re-release of Perry##Q##s album, it##Q##s become sad to me that many are regarding the album as a classic.
A classic album is Guns N Roses##Q## Appetite for Destruction, Alanis Morisette##Q##s Jagged Little Pill, hell, even more recently Amy Winehouse##Q##s Back to Black. These are all albums you can listen to that are not only cohesive, but provide songs so great and consistent that it becomes impossible to pinpoint a weak moment or even best moment. What these are NOT: disjointed, stacked with a few radio-friendly singles and filled with, well, filler- like Ms. Perry##Q##s in my opinion.
What do you guys think? Is Katy##Q##s album really deserving of a re-release? What are some albums that YOU think are classics? Let us know!
