Baby, baby, baby, oh! Today might as well be an international holiday for Belieber tweens (and myself). Don’t let his boyish grin fool you; Justin Bieber has reached his 18th birthday and is officially an adult!
He has only been in the spotlight for a few years, but the Biebs has caused millions of girls to catch some serious cases of “Bieber Fever”…and it’s not expected to get any less severe any time soon.
After being discovered by talent manager Scooter Braun and bursting into the music scene in 2008, the Canada-native has had nonstop success. Among grabbing the attention of the greatest artists of all time, selling out a worldwide tour, topping Billboard charts, having a movie of his own and, of course, creating a signature hairdo, Bieber has developed a fan base that is comparable to The Beatles##Q##. JB has nearly 41 million Facebook fans and 18 million Twitter followers.
“Almost legal,” he Tweeted the day before his birthday.
One thing that##Q##s been on my mind is, what can a guy with absolutely everything want for his birthday? Bieber took to Facebook to let us know.
“I want to use my bday to help others,” he posted. “If u want please donate $18 to @charitywater on my 18th bday! #GiveBack - http://charitywater.org/justinbieber”
But he didn##Q##t get away that easy. Bieber is a regular guest on Ellen DeGeneres##Q## show and decided to stop by for his birthday. The taping was Wednesday and will air on his birthday today. Braun surprised him on the show to give him his birthday present from him and Usher Raymond.
“You work really, really hard and I always yell at you, don##Q##t get anything flashy, we##Q##re not about that, be humble, and I kinda broke my own rule,” Braun said to Bieber. “So we wanted to make sure you were environmentally friendly, and we wanted to make sure, since you love cars, that when you##Q##re on the road you##Q##re always looking environmentally friendly, and we decided to get you a car that would make you stand out a little bit on the road, and I think you know where I##Q##m going and you##Q##re freaking out a little right now. So, Justin, that##Q##s a Fisker Karma.”
The newly 18-year-old looked truly shocked as he walked over to check out his sweet new ride. The Finnish car is completely electric and few have made it to the states.
Let’s take a stroll down memory lane, shall we?
Justin Drew Bieber was born on March 1, 1994, in London, Ontario, Canada, near his hometown of Stratford to 18-year-old Pattie Mallette. The struggling single mother had a difficult time raising Justin while working multiple jobs and maintaining a low income, but fortunately her parents helped in her child##Q##s upbringing.
As a child, Justin taught himself how to play the drums, guitar, piano and multiple other instruments. He also found a love for playing hockey and singing.
Justin entered a vocal contest called “Stratford Idol” when he was 12 years old and placed third, but his mother posted all of his videos from the contest and home recordings on YouTube where his future manager found them.
Braun was very persistent in contacting Mallette, and once he did, he flew her and Justin to Atlanta where L.A. Reid signed 14-year-old Justin Bieber to Island Records. The rest is history!
Bieber is currently recording his highly anticipated third studio album entitled Believe, which will drop this spring. He is expected to start another tour after the album release.
Now excuse me while I spritz myself with a little Someday perfume, pop in Never Say Never and reminisce on the empire that Justin Bieber has created.
Happy 18th Birthday, JB!
