It’s time for the seniors in Glee to say goodbye and move into the post-high school big world, but it’s not an easy transition.
The week following the death of Whitney Houston, NBC aired an episode of Glee in which Amber Riley’s character, Mercedes, sang Houston’s famous version of I Will Always Love You. However, the cast ironically taped the entire episode, including that song, prior to her shocking death and added a short tribute at the end of the episode.
E! News now reports that the producers and cast are currently working on a full episode to pay tribute to the lost legend. The episode will include eight of Houston’s songs and is said to “not be a typical tribute.”
“It##Q##s using Whitney##Q##s music as a way to say goodbye,” a source tells E! “A way to respectfully say thank you for her music.”
The episode’s storyline is supposed to be about the seniors graduating and having a hard time letting go and moving on from one another and the organization that they became so close in.
Lea Michele Tweeted on Thursday about the tribute: “Starting a new episode today. A very special tribute to one of the worlds most amazing singers. Very excited about this one..”
