Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr is officially a free man! Mayweather was released from a Las Vegas jail early this morning after he served around two months of his three month sentence for domestic violence. The boxer was sentenced to jail back in December of 2010, after he beat up his girlfriend, in front of their children. He also pled no contest to two misdemeanor harassment charges after he also threatened to beat up his children during the same incident. How sad!
A spokesperson for the Las Vegas Police Department said that Floyd was released early due to good behavior, but isn’t exactly off the hook yet. He has been ordered to complete 100 hours of community service, and a 12 month domestic violence program. He had a large entourage of people picking him up this morning, including his good friend 0 Cent. Let’s hope Floyd can get it together for the sake of his children!
