Designer Christian Siriano hosted the FolieM Perfume Launch Party in Los Angeles on Thursday night and PopStop TV News chatted with him about runway Fall and Winter 2012 collection, if he could have his own fragrance and the power of social media!
We saw in his recent runway show that his upcoming collection has a very dark tone to it and he explained, “It’s a fun season, very dark, but cool.”
Siriano said that the unique inspiration for the collection was the 1933 film The Vampire Bat.
“I really wanted the collection to be kind of dark and quite inspired by bats and this idea, but I still wanted it to be kind of a little 30’s, a little romantic, so still feminine, but still powerful.”
The topic switched to Twitter, and the Project Runway Season 4 winner stated that he receives the most random Tweets. He elaborated on how he thinks the idea of Tweeting is weird since it’s basically talking to the world, but on the other hand, he has met and eventually worked with people from first communicating via social media.
“Twitter is a hookup universe.”
