Marilu Henner was among many Hollywood and Broadway stars that took the stage on Wednesday night at the 20th Anniversary Alzheimer’s Association “A Night at Sardi’s” fundraiser and awards dinner.
The annual event raises funds for the elimination of Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research, providing and enhancing care and support for the affected and reducing the risks of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
Marilu came out to support the cause for her CBS show Unforgettable, which received the Abe Burrows Entertainment Award for the inclusion of an Alzheimer’s story arc that raises concern and awareness about Alzheimer’s disease.
PopStop TV News’ own J-Ro caught up with Marilu to chat about her show’s award and the importance of it to Alzheimer’s awareness. The show is about her character’s weak memory and dealing with her mother, who has the disease.
“It’s watching that combination,” said Marilu. “It’s never been done on a show before. It’s been so impressive and so important for memory research.”
Congratulations to Marilu and the cast and crew of Unforgettable on their award and doing a great job in raising awareness for Alzheimer’s!
