Legendary rapper Common is a triple threat – a hip-hop artist, an actor, and an author. In addition to taking over our TV’s this summer and tying up some unfinished business in season 2 of AMC’s “Hell on Wheels”, the Chicago lyricist is dishing to us exclusively about Kanye’s high-profile collaboration: Cruel Summer.
When our PopStop TV News team asked him about being part of Yeezy’s G.O.O.D. Music label, Common revealed that the album will include all of the label’s current arists including John Legend, Common, Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Mr. Hudson, Cyhi the Prynce, Mos Def, Pusha T, D’Banj, Teyana Taylor, Q-Tip, Hit-Boy, and 2 Chainz.
“I’m part of G.O.O.D. music, so we have an album coming out. I’m on with Kanye, Big Sean, Pusha T, Kidd Cudi, 2 Chainz, John Legend… the G.O.O.D Music family. It’s coming September 4th.”
The highly-anticipated album’s first single “Mercy” was released in April and a follow-up, “New God Flow” featuring Kanye and Pusha T. is set for official release on August 7.
On Mariah Carey judging “American Idol”, Common’s all for the diva making her singing competition show debut!
“I’m for whatever works. If that’s something that she feels great about, I think she’s just a talent in itself, she’s just a talented being, so it’s great she can go on to ‘American Idol’ and do her thing.”
