Don’t expect any Justice League movies to be directed by Christopher Nolan! He is hanging up his director’s cap after the end of his Batman cycle…at least when it comes to Batman.
The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit recently wrote, “don’t be surprised if Warners – and [Christopher Nolan] – take on a Justice League Movie soon.” However, when the director was asked if he plans on working on Justice League, he replied with, “No, none at all. We’re finished with all we’re doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character.”
“Batman will outlive us all, and our interpretation is ours. Obviously, we consider it definitive and kind of finished. The great thing about Batman is he lives on for future generations to reinterpret, and obviously, Warners will have to decide in the future what they’re going to do with him. We’ve had our say on the character…”
While Nolan will not get involved in the Justice League project, he will be producer on next summer’s Superman reboot, Man of Steel.
Marvel’s The Avengers was a huge success, so perhaps with the right cast and crew, Justice League will be too. In the meantime, fans will just have to keep on waiting and speculating!
Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises will be released on July 20th, putting an end to the epic Batman trilogy.
