Despite her popular song, don’t expect Carly Rae Jepsen to be saying “Call Me Maybe” to any guy soon!
Carly Rae Jepsen has admitted she has never given out her number. In a recent interview with the Associated Press, she was asked, “have you ever given a guy your number?” The singer replied with, “I’ve done brave things for love before or for the possibility of the idea of love, but I’ve never quite done that and I’m pretty sure now that I never can because that would be really, really awkward.”
It’s understandable the popular singer doesn’t want her number floating around. Boys would probably be blowing up her phone! It’d be funny though if Carly Rae went up to a guy and said, “Hey…call me maybe?”
“Call Me Maybe” has been number-one on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the last give weeks. The song has sold more than 100,000 copies and gained a lot of YouTube parodies, including one by Cookie Monster! (insert PopStop link)
During the interview, Carly Rae was also asked if she’s sick of her popular song. “I’m waiting for that to happen, but at this point it’s still such a crazy adventure that I’m on because of this song that I do feel like there’s a new element to it every day.”
The Canadian star signed a record deal with Justin Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, earlier this year. Fans can expect a lot of pop music on her future album. Carly Rae Jepsen is inspired by artists such as Robyn, La Roux, and Dragonette. She’s hoping to add her own spin to pop music!
