Backstreet’s back, alright! Okay so the Backstreet Boys haven’t really gone anywhere, since they have been busy touring with New Kids On The Block (NKOTBSB). But now…Kevin Richardson has rejoined the Backstreet Boys after a six-year hiatus from the band!
Richardson left the Backstreet Boys in 2006 to focus on his family. However, he joined the other four in sporadic performances throughout the years. He made an appearance with the band on an episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” joined them in a performance with NKOTB in Staples Center, LA, and went on the group’s 2nd annual cruise.
During a live show in London back in April 2012, the Backstreet Boys confirmed that Kevin has reunited with the group permanently. Today, they made the official announcement on Good Morning America that they are in the process of recording a new album! The Backstreet Boys are in a London studio with producer Martin Terefe, working on their album to be released next spring. The album release will coincide with the Backstreet Boy’s 20th anniversary.
Fans can check out reunited Backstreet Boy’s first performance as a whole on August 31, in NYC’s Central Park. They will be a part of Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series!
