One day after the news of Dick Clark’s death struck, Ryan Seacrest discusses his vast influence on the world of pop culture and entertainment on American Idol. Also, the Top 7 turned into the Top 6. See who made it through another week…
“America’s Oldest Teenager” is a title that withheld a much deeper meaning. Dick Clark clearly changed the outlook on many types of music and showed people what hosting a show really looked like.
Ryan Seacrest has followed closely in his footsteps throughout his career and is easily termed the next greatest. He first expressed his thoughts and condolences on Wednesday night’s Idol by opening the show saying, “Without Dick, a show like this would not exist.”
Seacrest continued paying tribute to his mentor on Thursday with a clip of Clark’s most memorable moments along with the two personalities sharing the spotlight on multiple occasions.
The sadness unfortunately did not stop there. One of American Idol’s Top 7 contestants had to be sent home. Since the judges chose to use their save last week on Jessica Sanchez, this time it was all up to America.
Elise Testone, Hollie Cavanagh and Colton Dixon sat in the bottom three. In the end, it was Colton who came out short. He apologized to viewers for not being himself the night before, but promised to take the judges’ advice while making future records.
It was obvious that the results were shocking to the audience, contestants and judges. Did you agree that America got it wrong this week?
