Buzzworthy moments call for trending topics on Twitter! There was nonstop chatter throughout the SAG Awards last night and we have a list of what people were Tweeting about most.
Jessica Chastain – “The Help” star was nominated for Best Supporting Actress and Best Cast, but people were mostly buzzing about her stunning bright blue Calvin Klein gown and gorgeous wavy do.
Betty White – We can always find something to say about the adorable actress that we all know and love. Tweeters fell even more in love with the 90-year-old when her reaction was complete shock when she was announced Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in “Hot in Cleveland.”
Kyle Chandler – His true name and “Coach Taylor” starting trending immediately once Chandler helped Betty White on stage to deliver her speech. What a gentleman!
Modern Family – Everyone starting talking about the hilarious show when it won Best Cast of a Comedy Series. Most Tweets were celebratory of the win, but others weren’t so fond of the kid-scripted speech.
Dick Van Dyke – This trend started before Mary Tyler Moore! People were reminded of the classic series when clips were played as MTR was presented with the Life Achievement Award.
Ken Howard – Howard is the SAG president and began to trend after taking a break during the awards show to announce that the boards have endorsed a plan for the merger of SAG and AFTRA to form one strong union for actors. This news also got a hugely positive response from the audience.
Mary Tyler Moore – The Life Achievement Award recipient is admired and respected by everyone from actors to moviegoers. Her name started flying on Twitter when she went on-stage to make her heart-felt speech.
Steve Buscemi – Buscemi took home the award for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role in HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” for the second year in a row. The prolific actor has every reason to be the topic of conversation, or topic of Tweet, I should say.
Michael C. Hall – Hall was nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role in “Dexter,” but people were more concerned about his beard. Judging by the Tweets, we suggest you shave, Michael!
Natalie Portman’s – It was her dress, earrings, voice, hair and the list goes on. Tweeters were chatting about it all! Whether they loved it or not, everyone was shooting off opinions about Natalie last night.
Viola Davis – “The Help” actress won the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role and Best Cast. People were not only buzzing about her big wins, but her inspiring acceptance speeches and elegant Marchesa gown were getting tons of attention as well.
I##Q##ll give Martin Scorsese an honorable mention, assuming he would##Q##ve been a trending topic all night if only people knew how to spell his name!
